Mega Aqua Food Park in Bhimavaram:

Aimed at encouraging the food-processing sector, the union government had in August last year approved a proposal to set up 12 mega food parks across the country during the 12th five-year plan period that ends in March 2017 involving an allocation of over Rs 1,700 crore.

  1. What do you think about the recent opposition to this project by villagers? Could it be the conspiracy of the opposition parties? Or they are legitimate?

    1. In my opinion it is a sensitive issue between Investors & local people dealt in a wrong way and finally took an ugly turn after political parties involvement. Management should have conducted sessions to create awareness among local people and should have acted generously on their compensation programs if in case any liabilities involved. Ruling party should have acted promptly to bridge the gap between the parties involved. Opposition parties should have protested categorically on the issues facing by the people if any. Neither of the parties did anything to resolve the issues and sent a strong negative message to the business world.
I never understand what leftists agenda is? They don’t want to prosper and don’t let others prosper and they feel themselves like saviors of laborers. Its better not to talk about Opposition party, only thing they want is government should fail, development should halt and their leader should become CM. God knows what ruling party is doing. For some people caste and regional feelings comes first and for some like me just show their anguish in social media.
Whatsoever the reason one of the country’s mega food park venture is almost turned down.

  2. Rightly said. Exactly the issues mentioned by you are the reasons why some projects are going on a snail's pace.

A few years ago, Central Govt sanctioned PLSK to Karimnagar and Bhimavaram. While Karimnagar PLSK was setup quite quickly, Bhimavaram's PLSK was opened this month June 22, 2016 (after 3+ or more years). This delay is just due to inability of local politicians to quickly show a place for it in Bhimavaram.

    1. Other disadvantage here is Bhimavaram is a commercial town developed over the years on its own. Due to aggressive business ventures around the town land rates are sky rocketed and government entities are left with bare minimum land pool as there was no town planning being implemented. So no land is ready to allocate to these kind of facilities and even Parks and public places like convention centers.
